Michigan DOT selects ZED to implement hands-free ticketing with phone in pocket

The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) and the Office of Future Mobility and Electrification (OFME) has selected ZED Digital’s hands-free ticketing solution for their Michigan Mobility Wallet Challenge. This implementation, the first of its kind in the nation, will enable transit riders in multiple cities in Michigan to board buses with their smart phone tickets in their pockets. ZED’s internet of Things sensor technology will automatically connect with the user phones in their pockets, to check for a valid ticket and inform the driver on a display unit. This will speed up the boarding process and enable riders to have a more seamless experience without line-ups and delays during boarding.

We have been selected to implement our solution Statewide in Michigan. Read press coverage on our Hands-free ticketing for Michigan.
