ZED’s securely located sensors onboard the vehicles can help to determine the people's count on each vehicle in real-time. The system can guide passengers to less crowded rides to help maintain social distancing. The app will indicate this real-time occupancy to the rider. In addition, the passenger count data is used to inform dispatchers and fare inspectors in real-time of the real-time vehicle occupancy.
